XMAS ADVENTURE EGYPT

For the young at heart – you have not experienced Egypt until you sailed on a felucca on the great and wide Nile River. A felucca is a traditional wooden boat which is wind driven. Combine the classical sites of Egypt and sail away.
So get ready for a quiet and calm, yet adventurous trip along the Nile.

What cities we will visit
Cairo, Aswan, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Luxor

Itinerary (9 days/8 nights)
Prices From 480 $

Day 1(21Dec): Cairo

Get ready to meet Egypt and its sites, sounds, tastes and smells. Our representatives will assist you through customs and accompany you to your hotel. Look around at all the architecture Cairo has up its sleeve.
For those who arrive morning or mid day, don’t forget to look at our options to experience Cairo.
Over night in Cairo

Day 2(22Dec): Pyramids and Saqqara

Today is the day you will meet the three most popular triangles in the entire world. The Pyramids of Giza. Experience a camel ride with the Pyramids in the background, stand face to face with the Sphinx and feel free to look over all of Giza from where you stand. Three pyramids down, one to go – the Stepped Pyramid of Djoser – which is also the oldest building structure in the entire world. From the complex we will gather at the train station where we will hop on a train to the city of Aswan.
Over night train to Aswan (B)

Day 3(23Dec): Aswan

Arriving mid day, we visit the Aswan High Dam, which is part of Lake Nasser – the largest man made lake in the world. A short motor boat trip will lead us to the island of Agilika where the Philae Temple is situated. This temple has a feminine beauty to it. A walk through the Aswan markets by night will be a great way to end a fun filled and treasure seeking day.
Over night in Aswan (B)

Day 4(24Dec): Aswan

The early bird catches the worm – in this case, an optional flight to Abu Simbel. Two massive rock temples stand on the west bank of Lake Nasser. Attempt your mathematical and scientific logic to figure out how the ancient Egyptians created masterpieces of this caliber.
A flight back to Aswan will be followed by visits to the Elephantine Island and Kitchener island. When it is late afternoon we will board our felucca and make our way for the first part of our trip to Luxor. Enjoy yout Xmas dinner at your hotel in Aswan
Over night on Felucca (B.L.D)

Day 5(25Dec): Sailing on the Nile

Merry Xmas !!! How was your first time sleeping under the stars – on the Nile River? The saying “sit back and relax” will really take meaning when we sail in zigzag motion along the wide river. Green crop fields and a light breeze in your face.
Over night on Felucca (B.L.D)

Day 6(26Dec): Luxor

After setting foot on dry land, our first stop is to admire the temple of Kom Ombo. The crocodile was held in especial honor by the people of Ombos therefore crocodile mummies can be found here. Also don’t forget to view the Nilometer, which was used to measure the level of the river water. After sailing for some time, we will stop to visit the Temple of Edfu.

Temple of Horus at Edfu is the most complete preserved. Built from sandstone blocks. A relatively short drive to Luxor will give us the chance to see Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple. Karnak is now considered one of the 100 wonders of the world. Mere for its size and countless obelisks and pillars. Luxor temple, with its causeway lined with sphinxes, which used to lead all the way to the Temple of Karnak, is considered one of the most well preserved temples in all of Egypt.
Over night in Luxor (B)

Day 7(27Dec): Luxor

Good morning to you. Let us explore the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, the Temple of Hatshepsut and time willing, even stop for some alabaster products. We will stop and stare at the Colossi of Memnon as we make our way to the east bank.
After seeing some of the most amazing temples and tombs in all of Egypt, have a free afternoon to explore the east bank by foot. Shop for some quality gold and silver before it is time to say bye to Luxor and make our way back to Cairo by train.
Over night train to Cairo (B)

Day 8(28Dec): Cairo

We are back, but we still have some pride to show off at the Egyptian museum. After freshening up, we will drive to do just that. The museum is home to the most extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities in the world. Our representatives will recommend how you can spend your last night in Cairo.
Over night in Cairo (No meals)

Day 9(29Dec): Transfer to airport

For those who depart late afternoon or evening, don’t forget to look at our See More options to experience more of Cairo.
